Starting School
A Confident First Step
Starting school is an exciting and sometimes emotional milestone. At Little Wise Kids, we help make the transition smooth, joyful and empowering for children and families.
Through a screen-free, child-led and play-rich approach, children build the emotional resilience, social skills, independence and curiosity they need for their next chapter.
Funding & Fees
Supporting Families, Investing in Early Years
We believe every child deserves access to nurturing, high-quality early years education and that families deserve clear, supportive information about childcare costs.
Little Wise Kids offers government-funded childcare places for eligible families. We are open year-round for 51 weeks of the year, helping children benefit from consistent routines, care and learning.
How Funding Works
Government-Funded Childcare
The government provides childcare support for eligible families, depending on a child’s age and a family’s circumstances.
Funding may cover some of your childcare costs, helping to make quality early years education more accessible.
Because Little Wise Kids operates year-round for 51 weeks, funded hours are spread across the year rather than only used during school terms.
Current Example Calculations
Approximately 11.18 hours per week across 51 weeks
Approximately 22.35 hours per week across 51 weeks
Additional fees may apply for hours outside a family’s funded entitlement. These support extended care, meals, nursery experiences and the high-quality early years provision offered by Little Wise Kids.

Where Transitions Are Gentle, Personal and Full of Heart
Choosing an early years setting is one of the most personal decisions a family can make. At Little Wise Kids, we give settling in the time, care and attention it deserves.
We see settling in as a journey, not a single event. From your first visit onward, we work with you to understand your child’s routines, personality, comforts, preferences and any particular worries or needs.
Partnership From the First Day
You know your child best. We value your knowledge and work in partnership with you to make each transition feel familiar, reassuring and secure.
Our team supports children to build trusting relationships with their key person, other educators and their new environment.

Every child settles in differently. We use flexible strategies that are agreed with families and shaped around the child’s readiness.
